We Remain Open

Though things are changing by the minute with the release of new research surrounding Covid-19, we’ve decided to remain open to help serve our patients and community during this trying time.

Rest assured, we’re taking additional steps to ensure our practice remains clean and safe (PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS ON EXACTLY WHAT PRECAUTIONS WE ARE TAKING). If you do have flu-like symptoms or a fever, please let us know before you arrive so that we may reschedule your visit.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS HAVE WE IMPLEMENTED?

  • For those wanting or needing minimal contact with other people, we have made available spare rooms (FULLY DISINFECTED), to be used as additional waiting areas, further reducing interaction with other people. Just let us know upon arrival.
  • Another option is to wait in your car until it’s your turn. If you call and let us know you’ve arrived, we can simply call you when it’s your turn.
  • We ask for anybody who has traveled internationally in the last 2 weeks to self-isolate.
  • We ask that if you are feeling unwell or like you’re coming down with something, stay home and reschedule your appointment for a time when you are feeling better.
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available in our waiting area and in treatment rooms.
  • Handwash/soap is available in all bathrooms.
  • We wash our hands frequently and will refrain from shaking hands for some time.
  • High-frequency touch areas such as door handles and the front desk are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
  • Tissues are available in our waiting area and in treatment rooms.

Lastly, but most importantly, remember that one of the best things you can do in times like this, when panic and stress is high and when immunity is critical, is to keep well, and take the very steps necessary to maintain and boost your immune system. Remember that fear is a major stressor, and as stress INCREASES, immunity DECREASES. Following is a list of some top recommendations to keep your immunity strong:

1. Get adjusted! Chiropractic adjustments are known to reduce the stress response and therefore help improve immunity!

2. Get lots of rest, especially if you’re tired or have had some late nights.

3. Make sure you get plenty of sunshine (approx 30 mins or more/day on a large part of your body, during the midday sun, yes, midday sun) OR supplement with Vit D3 if you’re unable to receive enough sunlight.

4. Drink 3-4L of water per day (much easier to do if you’re fasting)

5. Keep down the processed carbohydrates (pasta, bread, sweets, rice, chips, rice or corn crackers). These become pure glucose in your bloodstream and actually lower immunity!

6. Alcohol is a stressor itself and a carbohydrate, so be mindful of quantity intake.

7. Keep moving. Movement (whether walking, sports or exercise) is a powerful way to destress and boost immunity.

8. Consider some meditation or quiet time to yourself, with deep breaths to calm your stress response and activate your immunity. See the ‘Wim Hoff method’ as a great example of simple breathing techniques.
